The company stated that trends and emails from their more than two million customers have identified that a substantial number of adult DVD buyers prefer seeing their DVDs through digital delivery rather than by purchasing the physical product in a store, online, or though the mail.

As of the launch date, Download-2-Own.com offers 8000 total downloads (over 2000 are unlimited) with more added every day. Studios have embraced this new product because it reduces the amount of physical product they must package, ship, and have on hand. It also gives Studios more flexibility so employees previously involved in shipping and returns can devote time to other responsibilities.
